The Flying Probe 4040 system permits complete testing of the card to be performed with high productivity and is conceived to test cards made using SMT, fine-pitch and BGA technologies, even when it is impossible to access the nodes by the needle bed. The principal characteristic of this system of testing is the flexibility of use, which makes both prototype and production testing possible in mid-high series.

The version of the SPEA 4040 system in our possession is able to perform tests such as: In Circuit, functional and optical, on electronic cards and modules of any type.
Integration into a single system of possibilities to perform In Circuit, functional, optical and open pin tests represents the best solution for reducing testing costs to the minimum.
After system 4040 testing, the card can be sent for integration with the product and final testing.
The operative system ATOS2-FLY supplied with the SPEA 4040 system allows generation of the test program. The system is rich in powerful software for the generation, debugging and certification of functional test programs. The generation of the program happens through loading CAD files, inerent in the card to be tested.

The test program can be developed applying different measurement techniques such as:

The tests take place by means of physical contact between the card and a dedicated needle bed.
Easytest 50 MDA Plus uses the operative system ATOS2-ICT, which permits programming of the test and is compatible with the operative system ATOS2-FLY for Flying Probe 4040.

Software compatibility initially allows development of the program on the Flying Probe 4040 system for prototype and small series testing. The program is subsequently utilizable in the Easytest 50 MDA Plus system.
